Rev. Jace was born in Houston, Texas, and at the age of ten was considered a non-reader. Through dedication and perseverance, he transformed his academic journey and, by age fourteen, graduated from high school while delivering his valedictorian speech at Jesse Jackson Academy.
He attended Texas Southern University, where he became the youngest President of the university’s internationally recognized Speech and Debate Team in its seventy-five-year history. Rev. Jace later earned his undergraduate degree in Communications from Bottega University through a bridge program with Texas Southern University.
After relocating to New York City, Rev. Jace earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from the College of New Rochelle and was first ordained as a youth leader at First Corinthians Baptist Church in Harlem. In 2013, he moved to Los Angeles County, where he has worked with political and nonprofit organizations, including the Minority AIDS Project, and numerous community advocacy initiatives.
Rev. Jace holds a second Master’s degree in Infrastructural Development and a Doctorate in Sociology with a focus on human behavior and missionary studies from Tcom College. He also received an honorary doctorate from Interdenominational Christian Fellowship under Bishop Niko Polk.
Elected to public office in 2019, Rev. Jace currently serves his second term as Representative-at-Large for West Adams District 10. His ministry centers on youth leadership, education, and creating safe, affirming spaces for young people and marginalized communities worldwide.
